If you're an actor with screen time looking to create your first Reel, or update an existing one, you've come to the right place! Joint Custody Productions knows how important it is to look good and show off your experience and potential! We can help you get the attention you deserve at a price you can afford! If you've got the clips, we've got the time! Starting at just $50 for a 3-minute Reel! Hit us up in the Contact module below for more info or call (615) 431-9216 to get started!
Our process for making your Reel is simple and transparent. You'll never wonder where your final product is.
We agree to produce your Reel the way you want it.
You pay us a down payment of $25 to get started.
You send us your video clips - see FAQ for more details.
We create your Reel & upload a private preview to YouTube.
We work on your Reel until you are satisfied.
Once you are satisfied, you pay the final installment.
We send you the final product - see FAQ for more details.
You will need to send us copies – no original files please – of any video clips that you feel should be included in your Reel. Feel free to make notations on what you prefer to be included. We will otherwise make our best judgment and go from there. Remember, nothing we show you in a preview is final unless you say so. We will also need other information, such as your name, email, official website (if you have one), agent and/or agency and any other pertinent information you feel would be useful when screening your Reel. Keep in mind that unless you do not have an agent or agency, you typically do not want to provide personal information. Therefore, make sure you have your agent’s or agency’s contact details ready.
You can either send them to us via snail mail (typically in a USB flash drive, if the data fits) or you can upload them to one of our cloud servers for access.
We will either send the final product back via snail mail (typically on a USB flash drive – at no extra cost to you) or provide you access via one of our cloud servers.
As noted above, you’ll want to make sure you send us copies of your video clips. If you’re sending your clips via snail mail, we are not responsible for any lost or stolen files. That being said, if something is lost when we send the final product back to you, just let us know!
Turnaround time is based upon when we receive the raw video clip files (assuming the initial installment is paid) and when we put the first preview Reel up for your review. Based on this, turnaround time is usually a week or less. If you need it faster, just let us know and we’ll be happy to work with you!
We will keep your clips on file so that if you ever need to work with us again for another Reel, (or if you need to get another copy of the final product), we already have the original session we created available to work from. That will make the process easier and quicker for all involved! If you do not want us to keep the original files and project session (which we don’t recommend) just let us know and we’ll delete them.
Unfortunately no, we will either keep them or delete them. Again, we don’t recommend requesting the latter – you never know if you may need it again.
No – your raw, original video clips are kept private and secure. We will never share any original data – including video clips – with anyone!
We like to keep the final products we do for Clients in a portfolio so that we can show potential new Clients what we can do. This may mean that it might be on YouTube or other currently non-specified platforms. If you do not want us to include your reel in our portfolio, that’s no problem! Just let us know!
Industry standard is to make sure your Reel is no longer than 3 minutes. That being said, if you need something longer than that, there will be another $25 charge for each minute past 3 minutes (starting at 3:01).
We will give you four files, all encoded in H.264. Two will be in 720p (high quality and streaming quality), and two will be 720×480 (for use with DVDs). If you need them in any other format, we can work with you on that. Just let us know!
We use both Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut X. Sometimes we also do some additional work in Adobe After Effects.
Currently we do not, but we do provide DVD-ready files as noted above. Though the market is moving further away from DVDs and more toward social media, we still see that there would be a use for DVD packages, so we will continue to research its feasibility for future offers.
In our experience, less clutter is better for something like a Reel. Nonetheless, if you would like logos and/or graphics, please be aware there will be extra fees, but we are more than willing to work with you on that!
No sweat! We’re bound to miss something so don’t hesitate to ask us your questions (or even ask for more details about the ones above) by hitting us up in the contact form!
